School meals are prepared and cooked on the premises in our own kitchens by Direct Services. Children can choose from either a variety of cooked meals or as an alternative can have a sandwich meal, that consists of a sandwich, a piece of fruit, crisps or pudding of the day, sandwich meals need to booked in advance.
Food is served in our 'restaurant' aptly named 'Food for Thought' by the children. The surroundings are very much in a cafe style with a variety of seating, music and even a salad cart. The vast majority of our pupils choose to have a lunchtime meal owing to the quality of the provision.
In accordance with our healthy eating policy children may bring fruit or a plain biscuit and a suitable drink to school for the morning break. Alternatively a tuck shop operates which typically sells toast, drinks, fruit and biscuits at reasonable prices. On no account do we permit any form of chocolate, sweets, chewing gum or fizzy drinks in school. Children who bring packed lunch must also adhere to this policy. Water is available to accompany all lunchtime meals including packed lunches.
