    Parent Guidance Document

    Dear families.

As promised last week, we have now completed our new ‘Parent Guidance Document’. The document is attached to this e-mail as a PDF and is also available on the school’s website at Key Information for Parents and Carers.

Please find below a brief summary of the key elements in our new ‘Parent Guidance Document’. Please take the time to look through it as it contains some key information as to the running and organisation of the school for the academic year 2021-2022.

    Parent guidance document summary
    • School attendance is compulsory
    • Pupils no longer need to be in bubbles
    • Masks are no longer compulsory
    • No staggered start and end times
    • Schools no longer need to do contact tracing, it is the responsibility of parents to work with track and trace to ascertain close contacts
    • Testing remains important in reducing the risk of transmission of infection within schools. Staff will continue with 2 x weekly tests and reporting arrangements until the end of September, when this is being reviewed.
    • The school will focus on good hygiene including frequent and thorough hand cleaning and the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach.
    • We’ll maintain enhanced cleaning regimes.
    • We’ll continue to follow public health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID 19. Please note, there are no changes if you are positive in terms of self-isolation periods or actions.
    • If you get a positive LFD test get a PCR to confirm. You’ll need to self-isolate until you get the PCR result
    • Positive cases in your household. Pupils can still attend school but should carry out a daily LFD test if someone they live with has symptoms or has tested positive for COVID 19. The daily LFD Tests should be carried out until the positive household case passes the 10 day self-isolation mark or they test negative via a PCR. If your child tests positive using a LFD test, please get a PCR test on GOV.UK to check if they have COVID-19
    • If you’ve been in close contact outside of your household a PCR test is recommended. You do not need to self-isolate when waiting for the PCR.
    • School can refuse to admit a child if they have COVID19 concerns
    • No parents allowed on site during the autumn term, this will be reviewed in the early spring
    • Breaktimes remain split.
    • Tuck available at breaktime, costs on website
    • Lunchtimes back to pre-pandemic arrangements. More details in main guidance
    • Please note we are a nut free school, please do not send in nuts as part of a lunchbox or snack.
    • Pupils are expected to wear school uniform except for PE and Forest school days. Please see guidance for appropriate PE kit

As always, if you have any questions please e-mail the school office at enquiry@rednalhilljuniors.com or call 0121 453 2520.

    Kind regards,

    Mr. Jones
