School Business Manager - Part Time - 15 hours per week all year with banked hours

Grade 5 - £34,788 – £42,683 pro rata (actual salary £14,296 – £17,541)

Required from May/June 2020

 

The Governing Body wish to appoint a motivated, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and confident person to join our team as a Business Manager.  The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to their work and be able to communicate effectively with staff, governors, pupils, parents and visitors.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team.  You will promote the highest standards in business ethos within finance, facilities and personnel functions.  There is an expectation that through efficient and effective methods of working, you will become cost neutral, by attracting additional funding and making efficiency savings.  Working days and hours are to be agreed with the successful candidate.  We will consider a job share with another school or via a SLA. 

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Are experienced working within a school
  • Are confident in leading and be able to function well as part of a team
  • Are highly organised and have the ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • Have a relevant qualification e.g. SBM or accountancy qualification
  • Are experienced in strategic financial planning
  • Are able to present data and information to governors and senior staff
  • Have knowledge of health & safety, premises management, policies and HR procedures
  • Have experience of income generation
  • Are able to work on their own initiative with excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills

 

This position will include a full and active role within the school’s Middle Leadership Team, working regularly with the Head Teacher and contributing to Governing Body meetings. You will work alongside Schools Financial Services and other specialists employed to support the school.
