Weekly Focused Assemblies 2023-2024

As this week is National Science week, our assembly was all about science! We celebrated science week in schools by engaging in lots of fun scientific activities and our parents joined us for some exciting workshops. Miss Yarwood introduced to us that science is important in every day life and she got us to imagine a scientist and what they looked like. Most of us had the following ideas:

We then spoke about how important it is to smash stereotypes and to know that anyone can work in the science field. Miss Yarwood told us that we need to aspire to follow our dreams and know that we can achieve anything we set our mind to. We explored some jobs that are in the field of science to inspire us and to look at the breadth of what scientists can do.

To end our assembly, each year group shared which scientist they had been studying in class. We also listened to the following song, Frank Sinatra – Fly me to the Moon:
